WCPW came to Newcastle's Northumbria University's Sports Central on Saturday 29th April, with "No Regrets". WCPW is the second biggest wrestling channel on YouTube to WWE only. The event was televised live on IPPV and featured some top names in professional wrestling. Over the years we have covered a large amount of amateur and professional sports; although this was something totally new!!
For the first time not being able to shoot ringside and having to shoot from the balcony above produced some great results - proving that you don't always have to be on top of the action to get some fantastic shots. It also gave a different perspective on how the audience interact and participate with the show. Wrestling fans are very enthusiastic!
Which made for a fantastic show!
Over the years the basketball team Newcastle Eagles have become the most successful team in British basketball history. This year the Esh Group Eagles Newcastle celebrated their 21st Birthday at the Marriot Hotel in Newcastle were they're annually held. For many years we have had the great privilege to have been asked to provide the photography for their event. Over the years we have become to know the team very well, always making us extremely welcome.
Would you like to be part of a magic weekend?
Dacia Magic weekend is back to St James Park in Newcastle on May the 20th and 21st with some incredible RLF action following the great success of 2016, when over 68,000 fans attended the two day event at St James Park. Kicking off the weekends action will be Widnes Vikings v Wakefield Trinity who are part of the 12 team line up, playing 6 games over the two day event. The weekend promises to be another great event for all the fans with fast passed action from the Rugby League. One of the highlights being the closing game on Saturday with Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves, facing off in a rematch of the 2016 Super League Grand Final. Not only does the weekend offer incredible Rugby League, the fans can enjoy everything that is great about Newcastle, from our family friendly bars and restaurants, to the fabulous sites of the city.
As a photographer attending previous Magic Weekend events, I have found it to be one of the highlights of my year. What more could I ask for, capturing some of the best teams in Rugby League going head to head in my home town and the true feel of the passion of the game from all the fans. The weekend is not just for dedicated Rugby League fans but is a fantastic weekend for all the family. In my opinion if you are looking for something to do that weekend, then get your tickets now. You won't be disappointed.
